WHAT IS REIN?

R.E.I.N is a Canadian Real Estate training and research group founded by author Don Campbell. It offers several products and courses to help Canadians learn how and where to most effectively invest in Real Estate. These range from reports on top areas to invest in, to full multi-day live training seminars. REIN Homepage

You may be thinking... All that is great, but is R.E.I.N. any good or is it just a scam to get my money? There is so much junk out there that promises to make me rich!

We were wondering that exact same thing ourselves, so we did a little research into the founder...
- He actually DOES own more than 300 properties
- His book really is the best selling real estate book in Canada based on several independent sources including Amazon (That does not happen to investment books filled with junk)
- He has been quoted and interviewed by the most prestigious news organizations in Canada... Repeatedly
The Globe and Mail (Nov 21, 2007)
The Toronto Star (Jan 22, 2006)
CBC's The Hour (part one of two shown below - Don shows up about 1/3rd of the way through)

... Among many others we did not list here.
If every major Canadian network and newspaper considers Don Campbell one of their "go-to guys" for real estate matters, we figure he must know what he is talking about.

So it would seem that Don Campbell himself is legitimate and really knows his stuff when it comes to real estate. But what  kind of experience does REIN give its members?

We talked to several current and former R.E.I.N. clients to see what they thought. Here's what they told us...

Joan Kepnick - Toronto: I love REIN! I have been with them for more than a year and now own 6 investment properties. They give you the whole package, everything you need to make it happen. If you put in the time and persist, financial freedom is there for the taking.

Matt Tang - Calgary: My friend told me about rein 8 months ago and I owe him big time for it! He already has 8 properties and even with the recent dip in values, his net worth has been skyrocketing. The tenants are paying off all his mortgages and at the same time putting thousands in his pocket every month. I didn't believe him at first and am kicking myself for wasting 6 months before I signed up. Now I've got my first property, it's filled with tenants and it's cashflow positive. I can't believe how easy that was!

Michel Neveux - Calgary: I used to be with them but not anymore. I bought a few houses in Calgary and held them for 2 years. It was a pain in the butt doing all the research to pick a house, get financing, get it ready for tenants, then get a property manager in there and deal with things that came up. I have too many demands on my time so I sold, but with the real estate crash, I ended up pretty much breaking even. I guess that's better than a lot of people in Calgary because REIN recommended a good area, but I realized that real estate is just not for me. I'd rather take a lower long term return and just let someone at the bank manage my money.

Loraine Richards - Ottawa: I have been interested in real estate for a long time but did not know where to start. When I found REIN, I was so happy because I finally had real mentors to guide me. My husband was a not excited about the idea at first, but when I brought him to a few meetings and got him started on the ACRE system, he quickly came around and is now pulling ME along! I do this part time alongside raising my kids and the extra income is great! Our properties are letting us send our kids to any university or college they want and will have us retired at least 10 years sooner than we ever thought possible.

Eric Singer - Ottawa: Don is a prick, that's all I'm going to say.

Namit Gupta -  Brampton: I have tried a lot of real estate courses over the years, most of them from the US. I've tried Rich Dad, Carlton Sheets and a number of others and I learned a lot, but there was always something missing. The laws and market in Canada are different in a lot of little ways you don't realize until you actually try to buy property. For example, you can't use LLCs to limit liability or carry over gains and tenant rights here are really very different. I can't tell you how valuable it is to have Canadian-specific information and a network of other local investors like I've found here at REIN. The people here are amazingly kind and helpful and there's no way I'm ever going back to the US courses!

Clearly not everyone liked REIN, but we were hard pressed to find clients who had left the group because the products were "junk". Several people said that after trying it, they found that real estate wasn't for them and others left because they did not feel comfortable taking the risk of buying and managing. However, everyone we spoke with who had followed through on what they had been taught gave us good reviews. Most (as you already read) were raving about it.

So we went out and got some of their products, because we wanted to see firsthand what kind of "meat" they had. Here's what we found...

Talk about the top 10 towns
Talk about the A.C.R.E. system

To sum it all up...

After it all, we were pretty impressed. There are a lot of Real Estate "Gurus" out there who puff smoke, but have little substance. The impression we got of Don Campbell was that he actually cares about delivering a good product to help his clients be as successful as possible and also give them the support they need along the way. R.E.I.N does not take the same tired old material and recycle it year after year. They are constantly improving their system and leveraging their extensive Real Estate expertise and network to provide the most up-to-date information on the top places in Canada to invest. Every month they have new stuff.

You are not going to become a multimillionaire overnight or have bundles of money fall into your lap by simply buying this (or any other) system -If you believe that, you really shouldn't be managing your own money- But if you are serious about doing what it takes to become independently wealthy through real estate, R.E.I.N. is probably the best mentor and guide you can find in Canada unless you personally know someone who has bought more than 100 properties.
